In creating All My Little Pieces, Yantó (Brazil) and Dylan McKinstry (U.S.) began with a plan to co-write a song in a very short amount of time. Yantó recount: “Dylan had a beautiful guitar line, but we had no inspiration for the lyrics. We were in that library [at Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida], and started randomly opening books. Dylan found this poem about putting parts of oneself together, as if in a horror movie. Using that basic idea I started writing and singing melodies along with Dylan’s guitar arpeggios. The song that emerged is about a broken heart, but also a broken body/life after the end of a relationship. And how the pieces that we break in that process can be mixed up between those two people such that you don't know which parts are really yours and which belong to the other person.” Additional vocals and pitch pipe were later added by Sasha Alina (Russia).
All My Little Pieces was recorded in the library at the Atlantic Center for the Arts by OneBeat Co-Founder Jeremy Thal, and mixed/mastered by Christopher Botta.
